Job Summary: A farm supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the farm and ensuring effective management of resources, staff, and good agricultural practices on the farm.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor farm personnel, including technicians, laborers, and support staff.
  • Coordinate research activities and field trials with researchers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with research staff and management, ensuring farm activities align with research objectives.
  • Oversee crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting.
  • Sustainably manage fields, including practices that improve soil fertility and minimize soil degradation.
  • Facilitate research activities by providing logistical support, resources, and necessary infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate records of farm activities, research trials, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure, including buildings, irrigation systems, and research facilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of farm machinery and equipment.
  • Develop and manage the farm’s annual budget, ensuring cost-effective resource use and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and updates on farm operations for the Head of Farm Management, Country Representative and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Agricultural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in farm management preferably in a research setting.
  • Knowledge of Agricultural practices and farm machinery operation.
  • Strong management skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
