Job Title: Farm Field Supervisor

Asili Farms is a fully-mechanized farming company that manages dual-season production of high-quality maize and soybeans for supply to regional food processors. Asili became operational in January 2014 and is currently farming on over 5,000 ha of land in Western Uganda under a conservation agriculture and precision farming approach to maximize yields efficiently and sustainably.
Job Summary: Asili seeks a Farm Field Supervisor to oversee daily field operations, including planting, spraying, and harvesting. The role involves managing farm labor, ensuring safety and compliance, and optimizing the use of equipment and inputs to meet productivity targets while promoting sustainable farming practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise farm teams to deliver daily activities such as planting, spraying, and harvesting.
- Plan and allocate labor, equipment, and inputs to ensure efficiency.
- Uphold safety standards, ensuring correct use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals.
- Oversee machine checks, calibration, and maintenance for smooth operations.
- Track team performance, support skills development, and drive productivity targets.
- Keep accurate records, prepare timely reports, and communicate resource needs.
- Promote sustainable farming practices and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in field-based farm operations, preferably in mechanized agriculture.
- Proven ability to supervise large field teams.
- Strong knowledge of crop cycles, agronomic practices, and machine operations.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable farming.
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Luganda, Swahili, or local languages is an added advantage).
Work Environment
- Field-based role with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Requires long hours of walking or standing in the fields.
- Weekend work and extended hours may be needed during peak seasons.
- Mandatory use of PPE.
- Willingness to reside in or travel frequently to rural farm sites.
