Job Title: Farm Data Analyst

Duty Station: Kiryandongo, Uganda
About Organisation:
Asili Farms is a fully-mechanized farming company that manages dual-season production of high-quality maize and soybeans for supply to regional food processors. Asili became operational in January 2014 and is currently farming on over 5,000 ha of land in Western Uganda under a conservation agriculture and precision farming approach to maximize yields efficiently and sustainably.
Job Summary: Collects, analyses, and stores data and uses it to help the organization make better decisions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update daily operational reports (production, OEE, machine checklists) in real time.
- Compile and share seasonal reports on planting accuracy, harvest losses, calibration, and area planted.
- Calculate and submit seasonal staff performance bonuses for approval.
- Verify farm work records to facilitate prompt payment of casual laborers.
- Organize, enter, and maintain accurate data in company systems while adhering to set standards.
- Review data for errors or missing information, resolving discrepancies as per procedures.
- Conduct quality checks, consolidate data, and eliminate duplications to ensure database accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute daily work plans for different teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth farm operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, ICT, Statistics, Information Systems, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, Excel/Google Sheets, and data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills for handling large datasets.
- Experience with data models, reporting packages, and comprehensive report writing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluency in English required.
- Knowledge of Luganda, Swahili, or other local languages is an added advantage.
