Job Summary: Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Director of Technical Services and Innovation to join our team in one of our MC offices; ideally in London, Kampala, or Abuja.
This is a brand new role, the Director of Technical Services and Innovation (Director of TSI) provides strategic and technical leadership across Malaria Consortium’s programmatic portfolio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based technical services in malaria, vector-borne diseases, child health, and other communicable diseases. The role oversees technical standards, technical innovation and technical capacity strengthening across Malaria Consortium’s programmes and global initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
- Substantial experience in global health with a focus on malaria, vector borne diseases, child health or other communicable diseases
- Extensive firsthand experience in health intervention delivery programmes, particularly programming that is at scale
- A PhD, or equivalent extensive experience, in epidemiology, public health or related field
- Extensive experience in technical leadership at senior level within global health
- Proven track record in designing and delivering high-impact technical interventions in LMICs
- Experience in organisational strategic planning
- Significant management experience in an international NGO, academic institution or multilateral health agency, including managing a large team
- Has strong networks in the global health community
- Strong experience in mentoring senior, high-calibre technical staff
- Significant and current experience of writing funding proposals
- Experience communicating technical content to diverse audiences
- Right to work in the UK or specific location where there is a Malaria Consortium office
