Job Summary: The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness across all factory areas, including offices, processing floors, washrooms, and common spaces. This role ensures a clean and safe working environment that supports food safety standards and promotes staff well-being. The Cleaner plays a key role in upholding the factory’s image and ensuring compliance with hygiene and sanitation requirements in a dairy processing facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and scrub floors in offices, corridors, and production areas.
- Sanitation of Facilities: Clean and disinfect washrooms, changing rooms, and staff rest areas.
- Factory Hygiene: Support the cleaning of non-processing areas within the factory to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
- Waste Management: Collect, sort, and dispose of waste properly in designated bins and areas.
- Surface and Equipment Cleaning: Wipe down tables, windows, walls, and other surfaces as instructed.
- Cleaning Supplies Management: Ensure availability of cleaning materials and promptly report shortages to the Office Assistant.
- Safety Compliance: Use cleaning chemicals safely and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support to Staff: Assist during general factory cleaning days and cooperate with maintenance or production teams when needed.
- Reporting: Report any damages, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the Office Assistant.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Education: Uganda Certificate of Education (O’Level).
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in a factory, hospital, or food processing environment.
Skills and Attributes:
- Good understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety guidelines.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.
