Job Summary: To provide technical and operational support for MHPSS interventions under the project, including needs assessment, community outreach, psychosocial support, referrals, and integrating wellbeing considerations into other components (e.g. youth, women, refugees).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in baseline and ongoing assessments of mental health and psychosocial needs among women, youth, refugees, including identifying suicide ideation, stress, trauma.
- Facilitate support groups, peer to peer psychosocial interventions, awareness raising, sensitization in communities and with youth.
- Provide psychosocial first aid and individual emotional support as required; refer severe cases to specialized services.
- Work closely with community volunteers, local actors to set up or strengthen existing psychosocial support structures.
- Ensure integration of psychosocial wellbeing in other project activities (nurseries, youth training, VSLA, child protection).
- Document mental health and psychosocial support cases, maintain confidentiality and quality in data collection.
- Assist in preparing MHPSS reports, monitoring indicators, capturing success stories and lessons learned.
- Support capacity building for caregivers, teachers, community leaders on psychosocial and well being issues.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health, or related field.
- Experience (1-3years minimum) working in MHPSS, especially in humanitarian or development settings.
- Strong listening, empathy, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with vulnerable populations; knowledge of child protection standards.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Fluency in some local languages and written & spoken English is a MUST
- Ability to ride a motorcycle is a MUST with a valid riding permit
