Job Summary: Provide level 1 support to internal, external customers and Offshore Infrastructure team to ensure smooth delivery of services and fast resolution of issues that require physical intervention.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the offshore team with tasks that require Physical access to IT infrastructure
- Provide hands and feet support for different IT domains (Network, Storage, Backup and Security) handling all devices hosted in Data Centers including their power status, 24/7 online status and Alarms in case of any.
- Coordinating with multiple offshore teams to provide support including Hard Reboots for network devices, console provisioning, part receiving, Racking and de- racking.
- Managing all physical tasks required in the backup process.
- Supporting the offsite Backup team with all physical aspects of the backup process. Inserting and retrieving media from backup library and ensuring that tapes are safely transferred to Offsite Fireproof safe and catalogued accordingly.
- Managing the documentation of all backup media
- Infrastructure Monitoring and alerting
- Monitoring the MPLS, Main ISP Internet Links and Network down Alerts through Solar winds and Vrops monitoring tools.
- Physical Monitoring of Data center infrastructure
- Visiting of Data Centers at least twice a day, monitoring the DC health status, environment parameters such as nominal temperature, relative humidity, and Air quality of the DC and also Checking the Power status, Device LEDs, hardware and highlighting to IT Head together with Wipro NSD Team in India.
- Supporting End user support team to ensure availability of the end-user access network.
- Monitoring and managing the entire Mobile LAN at all company buildings/offices, providing Local and end user support to employees in their various departments, ensuring that they have full connectivity to the LAN and can access internet through wired and wireless media.
- Provide technical support and coordination between offshore teams and partners during systems integration activities and troubleshooting
- Providing technical support to the mobile money team with merchant integrations by initiating the entire technical process through raising requests, PCRs required for approvals before Configuring and establishing site-to-site IPsec VPN tunnels between Mobile Money and Merchant Partners and ensuring that the VPN tunnels are successfully set on both sides (Mobile Money and Merchant Partner) and undergo all successful stages of troubleshoots.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- BSC in engineering, IT, or Computer science or related fields Relevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
- At least 1 year in a role that involves Setup of servers, network Devices and network cabling.
- With proven experience is setup of networks (Firewalls, Network access control, VPNs, Secure Wifi) Other requirements (Behavioral etc.)
- Must be a self-motivate individual with a strong desire to learn
