Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Formulation of the tactical plan & roll out of the merchant strategy across the country in line with overall business objective with clear road map and delivery schedules.
  • Meeting the organizational merchant ecosystem objectives within the country by identifying opportunities/gaps for expansion and sharing recommendations to further roll out plans and reviews.
  • Responsible for setting over all targets for the merchant segments i.e. for the in house team & 3rd party acquirers.
  • Responsible for the achievement of set targets for merchant recruitment.
  • Identifying potential prospects & establishing a funnel focusing on key potential stake holders across top of the pyramid segments.
  • Responsible for pitching onto prospects by sharing value proposition to drive tie up interest and quality screening of the same with key focus on value chains & large segments.
  • Ensuring KYC due diligence of all the prospects to ensure compliance before tie ups and follow through on contract closure.
  • Ensuring that all set up merchant outlets across the country are active and operational.
  • Establishing collaborative relationships with own teams and all tied up partners to ensure business efficiency.
  • Periodic review of 3rd party partner performance.
  • Establishing clear sales objectives & profit story for the 3rd party partners to ensure sustainable viability.
  • Ensuring performance tracking & timely reports availability to the 3rd party partners & individual merchants.
  • Third Party Partner management.
  • Ensuring merchant visibility.
  • People management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • A university education preferably Bachelor of Business Studies.
  • 5 years of experience in Business development/sales preferably in FMCG.
  • 3rd party partner management will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of sales, good communication and people skills, understanding of the market.
  • Experience in building and development of channels.
