Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and contract administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and Uganda labour laws.
- Monitor and maintain employee attendance, leave, and payroll support data, ensuring timely updates and accurate reporting to management.
- Assist in coordinating training, performance appraisals, and staff development initiatives, contributing to workforce productivity and skill growth.
- Handle employee relations matters by providing guidance on HR policies, addressing grievances, and escalating complex issues to the HR Manager while maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare and maintain HR documentation and compliance records, including contracts, disciplinary actions, and statutory requirements, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- HR professional membership (HRMAU, CIPD, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Experience
- Over 5 years of progressive HR experience in structured organizations, preferably in industrial sectors such as mining, transport, logistics, or construction.
Skills &Competencies
- Excellent at planning and executing HR processes end-to-end.
- Solid knowledge of Uganda labour laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
