Over the years the company has expanded operations to include processed chicken and further processed products. The company started its operations in 1984. Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in East and Central Africa and deals in day-old chicks, processed chicken meat and further processed products such as smoked sausages, choma sausages & sausages.
Job Summary: To ensure all hatchery machines/equipment run optimally through maintenance, manage incubation to meet breed standards, monitor utilities, manage inventory, and lead maintenance personnel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for hatchery equipment.
- Manage incubation processes to achieve 100% hatch rate per breed standard.
- Monitor and minimize water, power, and fuel usage.
- Oversee maintenance of premises and compound facilities.
- Control the inventory of spare parts.
- Train, coach, and motivate maintenance staff.
- Budget for and implement the maintenance section’s budget.
- Ensure compliance with local/national regulations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics engineering. An Electrical Diploma with experience is also acceptable.
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a production environment.
- Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge or experience in incubation management and hatchery operations is an added advantage.
- Other: Must have team and leadership experience.
