Job Summary: Support the operation and maintenance of the Charging system nodes, CIS and VAS nodes to ensure a fault free operation and maximum Service availability and Quality through regular proactive maintenance tasks and close Network and Systems monitoring.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the operation of Class-A platforms including Charging System, CIS and Messaging (USSD and SMS)
  • Second Line escalation point for faults on the IN, CIS and VAS Nodes.
  • Support upgrades on the CIS, Charging system and Value Added Service Platforms and ensure System documentation resulting from upgrades.
  • Initiate Customer Service Requests with vendors in regard to faults on CIS, Charging system VAS Platforms and follow up to resolution
  • Ensure daily and weekly backups run successfully
  • Closure of tickets and requests in Service Now
  • Maintain and improve inhouse system monitoring tools.
  • Provide Technical Expertise on CIS, IN and VAS in regard to Risk Management and Revenue Assurance as well as attend to Audit items raised by Internal and External Auditors.
  • Ensure CIS, IN and VAS Node Uptime and proper system functionality to support key products and services such as Mobile Money, Voice and Data Bundles, Mobile Banking…..etc

Key Performance Areas

  • Charging System, CIS and Value Added Service Infrastructure Availability at 99.99%.
  • Timely Resolution of Faults on the CS, CIS and VAS systems
  • Daily System Backup success rate of 100%
  • In-house tool enhancements (At least one per quarter)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Electrical, Electronic or Telecom Engineering or related discipline.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ Experience
  • Experience in Unix/ Linux System administration, scripting and database administration.
  • Exposure to GSM Network management processes, procedures and activities.
  • Experience working with Charging systems, SMSC and USSD Technology.

  • Quick and gives attention to details
  • Good communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player with a good team spirit and willingness to learn
  • Must be willing to work long hours when called upon, and with a CAN-DO attitude
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to do shift work
