Job Summary: The role holder will be responsible for assessing claims in accordance with laid down claims procedures in the company and ensure effective and efficient service delivery to customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and process claims to ensure they are valid and authentic in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure that the claims department follows the claims guidelines and procedures manual, which is consistent with the Company’s business strategy.
- Establish a culture within the Claims department that emphasizes commitment to internal controls, risk management and high ethical standards.
- Discuss and address any outstanding claims to enable quick settlement of claims.
- To grow the company insurance book through quick turnaround time in order to maintain high customer satisfaction, retention and referrals.
- Adhere to the set company performance management standards.
- Assess the loss ratios and ensure that only quality business is considered for renewal.
- Maintain high standard level of customer service – responding to general Claim enquiries (walk-in clients, telephone and emails).
- Prepare claims reports, statistics, and analysis for management review.
- Liaise with intermediaries and direct clients on issues relating to their claims.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-Related field
- Professional qualification in Insurance (Certificate CII or COP).
- Two to four years’ experience in the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of Insurance regulatory requirements.
