Biyinzika Poultry International Limited (BPIL) is the leading integrated poultry company and a recognized household brand within Uganda. Established 30 years ago as Biyinzika, BPIL has grown from small beginnings to a company with over 9?5 employees stationed in over 9 production sites. BPIL produces and distributes quality day-old chicks and HACCP certified animal feed through over 40 branches within Uganda and the East African region. BPIL also produces chicken meat products under the Pearl Chicken brand retailed directly through our 30 Pearl chicken shops. Pearl also supplies leading wholesale, retail and food service customers with quality Ugandan National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) certified products.
Job Summary: The purpose of the role is to develop and implement marketing strategies gained through customer, shopper and consumer insights to support the growth of the BPIL business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and Implementation
- Work with the National Sales Managers and Commercial Executive / Commercial Director to implement the marketing plan.
- Support the development of marketing communications for company messages
- Liaise with the National Sales Managers and Commercial Executive / Director to ensure product communications are in line with BPIL standards.
- Gather customer, shopper and customer insights and develop initiatives to commercialize the opportunities.
- Implement the marketing research plans and cascades findings for effective resource utilization and implementation, including product range extensions, rationalization and packaging optimization.
- Implement product implementation plans that meet corporate standards.
- Work with the National Sales Managers, Customer Service & Logistics, Manager and Commercial Executive / Director to develop customer care tools that minimize customer complaints and maximize loyalty to BPIL.
- Participate in the development of the marketing budget and ensure maximum return on investment.
Coordination
- Coordinate and manage urgent tactical initiatives.
- Coordinate all the various marketing activities with BPIL to maximize synergies.
- Customer care feedback and analysis with the aim of minimizing customer put offs.
- Manage support agencies such as creative, packaging and research
- Advisory role to Commercial Executive/Director
- Prepare and submit timely reports on marketing and promotion issues.
- Supplier – client chain
- Ensure good networking relationship and communication with key clients.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Financial Responsibility
- Supports the achievement of the annual sales budget.
- Develops and manages the Brand and Promotional budget
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or related field.
- Master’s Degree or Post graduate Diploma in Marketing or equivalent.
- Professional qualification in marketing.
Skills and Experience:
- 5-6 years working experience in a similar role in a world-class commercial business.
- Proven ability to drive brand development and growth.
- Proven ability to thrive in a competitive, dynamic, performance driven business.

- Ability to work across B2B, B2C and DTC operations.

- Management of creative, advertising and marketing agencies, research agencies, packaging design suppliers.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Research Analysis.
