Zembo Motorcycles SMC Limited is leading the African transition to electric mobility. Based in Kampala, Uganda, we provide affordable (PayGo) electric two-wheelers to low-income motorcycle-taxi drivers, most known locally as “boda-boda ”drivers. We offer a battery swapping service to our clients, enabling to swap within minutes at any of our stations.

Job Summary: Zembo is looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Sales & Partnerships Manager to lead B2B sales growth and develop high-value partnerships across Uganda and the broader East African region. This role will drive the adoption of Zembo’s electric motorcycles and battery-as-a-service offering among fleet operators, logistics companies, fintech partners, corporates, and NGOs.

As a senior leader within the commercial team, you will be responsible for defining the B2B sales strategy, managing major accounts, developing new channels, and establishing long-term partnerships to accelerate Zembo’s growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic B2B Sales Leadership

  • Design and implement Zembo’s B2B and institutional sales strategy to drive volume growth and recurring revenue.
  • Lead the full sales cycle for large and strategic accounts—from prospecting and pitching to negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
  • Develop pricing and sales models tailored to different customer segments (e.g. delivery fleets, corporate staff, NGOs, mobility platforms).

Partnership Development & Management

  • Identify, develop, and manage high-impact partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, logistics providers, delivery platforms, and development partners.
  • Lead discussions and structuring of co-branded initiatives, embedded financing, and fleet integration.
  • Act as Zembo’s lead relationship manager for priority partners, ensuring long-term collaboration and growth.

Team & Performance Management

  • Build, lead, and mentor a growing sales team, setting targets, tracking performance, and ensuring accountability.
  • Support recruitment and training of junior sales representatives and business development officers.
  • Design tools and processes to improve team efficiency and client engagement.

Key Account Management

  • Personally manage Zembo’s top clients and strategic partnerships, ensuring service quality, retention, and upsell opportunities.
  • Oversee regular business reviews, usage reporting, and satisfaction measurement for institutional clients.

Market Expansion & Insights

  • Analyze industry trends, customer behavior, competitor moves, and market data to identify new business opportunities.
  • Support entry strategies into new geographic markets or customer segments.
  • Feed insights back into product, marketing, and operations teams to improve market fit.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with leadership, marketing, operations, and finance teams to align commercial goals with execution capacity.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and partnership updates for executive management and investors.

First 90 days key deliverables:

  • Secure at least 5 business clients with fleets of 10 or more bikes
  • Drive sales through asset financing channel partners of at least 50% of monthly sales targets
  • Clear KPIs on lead generation vs lead conversion vs customer retention and report AAARRR funnel.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, enterprise partnerships, or business development—preferably in mobility, logistics, energy, fintech, or telco sectors.
  • Proven track record of closing and managing complex institutional or enterprise deals.
  • Experience building and leading a team with strong commercial performance.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the Ugandan business environment; regional experience is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and commercial instincts.
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented, with a focus on long-term relationship building.
  • Highly motivated by impact, innovation, and clean technology.
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and mission-driven environment
