Job Summary: To Ensure operations at all Alternative Fuel platforms (Saw dust shop, Biomass feeding, Carbon black) in the plant. It covers all AF warehouses, the AF mixing store, offloading activities and all day to day AF/Co-processing requirements linking AF and the plant Operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that both HSE standards are adhered to by all contractors and employees at the different AF sites under his/her supervision.
  • Manages operations of the saw dust plant for effective performance.
  • Draws a planned housekeeping schedule for all AF plant sites.
  • Ensures timely offloading and properly stacked storage of all AF materials.
  • Coordinate all AF plant activities with plant operations team for optimized and sustained operations
  • Together with AF sourcing team develop and share Monthly/Yearly consumption plan in line with Business ambition
  • Monitors AF stock levels of all AF streams to advise early enough in case of impending stock outs.
  • Manages the allocation of AF warehouse for the different AF streams for easy
  • accessibility by plant.
  • Draws a planned maintenance schedule in liaison with Maintenance department for the AF platforms (Saw dust machine, drier Biomass transfer equipment, chemical chute and Carbon Black shop).
  • Ensures that all incoming AF bags are not damaged for resale to the suppliers.
  • Works with the plant Operations team in drawing up trial protocols and implementation of new AF streams.
  • Works towards achieving the targeted AF mix ratio to meet the targeted cost.
  • Completes required training and development objectives including for the team within the assigned time frame
  • Innovate and develop new Renewable Energy, biomass streams and industrial wastes for energy recovery.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a related field such as engineering with successful proven track record in alternative fuels usage
  • Over 5 year’s industrial operations supervision preferably in process, quality or production in the cement industry.
  • Experience in managing industrial plant operations
  • Should have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
  • Should be result oriented, self-driven with a high sense of quality and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Should have computer proficiency in; Microsoft Office, SAP
  • Should have knowledge of cement production process
  • Proven knowledge of industrial occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Able to demonstrate experience in logistics and warehousing management
  • Experience in preparation of operational budgets and reporting
  • Knowledge of material transport equipment
  • Additional professional qualifications will be an added advantage
