Job Title:  Technical Buyer (Fresher Oil and Gas Jobs)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market price surveys on items frequently sourced or those that are part of the Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Verify accuracy of contractor bills and/or invoices against actual work done quantities as stated in the Local Purchase Order (LPO)
  • Participate in site visits with other stakeholders to assess progress on key projects.
  • Negotiate with suppliers.
  • Check and identify compliance with the technical requirements, project layouts, BOQs, cost estimates, etc by service providers.
  • Coordinate the procurement of imports through the Group procurement hub and ensure the logistics are in place for smooth delivery
  • Support user departments in procurement of goods and services
  • Coordinate the tendering process where applicable
  • Develop, evaluate and monitor key performance indicators for all suppliers
  • Submit monthly/quarterly reports
  • Activities
  • Assessing technical user needs for accuracy, correct specifications, etc
  • Processing purchase requests in a timely manner
  • Negotiating for competitive offers/rates with suppliers to achieve good savings on behalf of the company
  • Supplier Relationship Management

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Should possess a minimum of at least 2 years work experience in project management, construction or infrastructure development or related industry
  • Knowledge in procurement and supply chain management process will be an added advantage
  • Should have good analytical, communication and report writing skills
  • Should be a good planner, self driven and result oriented
  • Should be able to communicate in some local languages
