Job Title: Supervisor – Cane Yard

About Organisation:
Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.
Job Summary: To supervise the cane yard activities and achieve the targeted cane crushing capacity during the shift.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the performance at the Under carrier and Under feeder tables continuously.
- Check and confirm sugarcane is offloaded at the right places and that truck drivers comply with the arrangement.
- Check and confirm the attendance and punctuality of the subordinate staff.
- Maintain subordinate staff discipline and attend to their complaints promptly.
- Ensure feeder tables, under carriers and mills to be kept clean.
- Ensure all cane handling equipment’s are operational properly and assist during the cleaning of cane feeders.
- Adhering to and enforcing the Safety, Health and Environment Policy of the company.
- Performing any other related duties as may be assigned to you by the Superintendent- Shift/ Management from time to time. Please note that you may be required to work anywhere within the company.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors in Mechanical engineering. A Certificate in basic Supervisory Management is an added advantage.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
- A minimum of one to two (02) years’ experience in related field.
- Experience in handling of shift workers is an added advantage.
- Good supervisory skills, good communication and interpersonal skills
