Job Summary: The Research Associate II, Information Systems Engineering is a pivotal entry-level professional position crucial for supporting the development and maintenance of Kiira Motors Corporation’s digital ecosystem. This role is designed for a highly motivated Associate to contribute to the strategic implementation of digital solutions, including integrated charging networks, digital mobility platforms, and robust IT infrastructure. The Research Associate II will assist in software development, systems architecture, network configuration, and cybersecurity efforts, gaining invaluable, hands-on experience that directly supports our Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric (CASE) vehicle technology and overall organizational excellence. This position requires foundational technical knowledge, a passion for continuous learning, and a collaborative mindset, with a keen appreciation for emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and other Industry 4.0 concepts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities: Digital Infrastructure & Systems Support
- The Research Associate II provides hands-on support in developing and maintaining the Corporation’s digital and IT systems, ensuring strategic and operational functionality.
Digital Mobility Solutions
- Participate in the development and implementation of digital solutions for the integrated charging network, public transport platforms (e.g., payment, fleet management, scheduling), and fin-tech applications.
- Support the integration of digital payment infrastructure with financial institutions to enable a seamless, cashless public transport system.
Systems Architecture, Design, Engineering, and Test Documentation
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive design, engineering, and test documentation for software, networks, and systems in line with industry standards such as IEEE and ISO.
- Contribute to the development of system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and detailed work instructions, ensuring version control and easy accessibility.
Software Development & Cybersecurity
- Designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet user and business requirements for in-vehicle and corporate systems.
- Setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated software deployment.
- Regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in digital platforms and systems, ensuring data integrity and security frameworks are robust.
Systems Testing and Validation
- Develop of comprehensive test cases and validation plans for new software applications and system integrations.
- Execute system-level tests and debugging procedures to ensure all digital solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure before deployment.
- Document and report all test results, defects, and validation findings to senior staff, contributing to the quality assurance process.
- Any other duties: Any other Responsibility assigned by the Supervisor vital to Supporting Vision Execution, Enhancing Organizational Excellence and Fostering Cross-Functional collaboration.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum, completed the Minimum Requirements for the Award of a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Software Engineering, Networks Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Academic Institution NOT EARLIER THAN APRIL 2023.
- Experience
- This is a Graduate Associateship position; no prior professional experience is required.
- Prior experience through internships or significant academic projects related to software development, network management, or digital solutions is a significant advantage.
Professional Certifications
- Must be at least a Student Member of the UIPE.
- Other relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Certified Ethical Hacker) are an added advantage.
Skills And Competences
- Technical Fundamentals: Foundational knowledge of computer networking, operating systems (Linux, Windows), database management, and cybersecurity principles.
- AI, Machine Learning & Industry 4.0: Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning (ML) concepts, especially as they relate to automotive applications (e.g., data analysis for fleet management, predictive maintenance). Basic understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and their role in smart factory automation and connected vehicles.
- Programming & Scripting: Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to diagnose basic technical issues and contribute to troubleshooting efforts.
- Communication & Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Digital Proficiency: Competence in using network monitoring tools, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and standard office software (e.g., MS Office Suite, especially Excel).
