About Organisation:

Avanti Energy Services Limited (Avanti) is a Ugandan national company, which engages in providing services to the upstream oil and gas production industry within Uganda. Avanti was awarded a contract by a major oil and gas service company to source and employ in excess of 100 Ugandan engineers, technicians, operators and laborers to support their oil drilling operations within Uganda.

 

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA/QC Surveyor to enhance our team and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on our civil, structural, and pressure vessel projects. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil. Structural, or Naval Architecture) or a closely related discipline with a strong background in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance & Control: Develop and implement comprehensive QA/QC plans for civil, structural, and pressure vessel works, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct detailed inspections and surveys.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate QA/ OC documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs). and corrective action plans.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all activities comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior QA/ OC staff and other team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Naval Architecture) or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience as a QA/QC inspector or surveyor, with a strong focus on surveys, engineering coordination, and quality assurance activities. At least 10 years of this experience should involve working on large-scale infrastructure projects. Some experience in the marine industry and project management, including planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of engineering. OA/QC standards, procedures and inspection methods including site surveys. Proficiency in relevant engineering software applications. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry codes, standards and project requirements applicable to civil, structural, and pressure vessel works.
