NLS Waste Services was founded in 2009 with the mandate of providing small to large companies with industrial waste management solution and options for purposes of consistency, continuity and sustainably of business operations.
Job Summary: We are looking for a confident, persistent, and professional Operations Coordinator – HSE & Compliance to ensure workplace safety compliance, investigate and prevent incidents, manage hazardous materials and waste operations, oversee contractors, handle audits and license renewals, support budget and insurance processes, and train staff in Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote workplace safety and prevent accidents.
- Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety laws and policies.
- Conduct safety meetings and provide training for staff.
- Manage hazardous materials, waste operations, and site services.
- Oversee environmental audits, license renewals, and insurance processes.
- Supervise contractors and support operational needs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field
- HSE training/certifications preferred
- Experience in logistics, fleet, or waste management
- Knowledge of OH&S and environmental regulations
- Strong operations management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Leadership and team management experience
