About Organisation:
The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary: To ensure the security and integrity of the Bank’s network infrastructure by implementing and managing network security measures. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and maintaining firewall systems and other security devices to protect the Bank’s network from threats and vulnerabilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewall systems to ensure network security and compliance.
- Continuously monitor network traffic to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Participate in incident response activities, including detection, analysis, containment, and remediation of network security incidents.
- Implement and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of firewall configurations and changes.
- Ensure network security operations comply with internal policies, regulatory
- requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely and effective support and maintenance of network security devices.
- Participate in network security training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Participate in the evaluation of IT-related procurements ensuring technical
- requirements are met.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader Network Infrastructure from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A First or Upper Second-Class degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Professional certifications in network management such as CompTIA Network+ , CompTIA Security+, CCNP, CCIE, or Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate.
Work Experience:
- At least five (5) years of relevant working experience in network administration.
Age:
- 30.0 – 38.0 years of age as at close of the advert.
