About Organisation:
Government of Uganda through Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development is funding and implementing the Mineral Regulation Infrastructure Project The project is aimed at increasing adoption and use of appropriate and affordable technology along the mineral value chain It also aims at strengthening the legal and regulatory framework as well as the human and institutional capacity of the mineral Development programme which align with the NDPIV objectives.
Job Summary: To undertake mineral beneficiation and value addition studies
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carrying out laboratory investigations on the processing of mineral ores
- Assisting in design of flow sheets for mineral processing
- Test running pilot plants.
- Evaluating mineral processing methods
- Supervising and ensuring quality control in sample preparation.
- Assisting in preparation of sampling and sample preparation reports for bulk samples and consignments for laboratory investigations.
- Supervising and appraising technicians
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Extractive Metallurgical Engineering or in Mineral Processing Engineering or in Chemical Engineering or in Industrial Chemistry from a recognized university / training institution
