If you are looking to manage and support daily logistics operations in Uganda, including shipment coordination, customs documentation, supply planning (including innovations), warehouse management, supervision of 3rd-party (3P) activities, inventory waste management, and transporter payment reconciliation, ensuring timely and cost-effective product availability while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction then this role is just for you!
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Supply Planning
- Prepare and update replenishment plans based on sales forecasts and historical data.
- Coordinate timely orders with suppliers and procurement.
- Ensure readiness and smooth execution of warehouse processes for new product launches and innovations.
- Monitor stock levels, preventing stock-outs or overstock.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all warehouse and transport activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct periodic safety checks and collaborate with 3P providers to close any safety gaps.
- Support a culture of safety awareness among all logistics and warehouse staff.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure cycle counts are done, and accurate stock records are maintained.
- Review and identify business waste, damaged, or expired goods; seek approvals for disposal per SOP.
- Supervision of 3P Warehouse Activities
- Monitor daily warehouse operations against SLAs.
- Ensure safety, housekeeping, and accurate order picking.
3P Payment Reconciliation
- Verify transporter invoices against trips, signed PODs, and rates.
- Prepare all other 3p related payments OTIF
- Resolve discrepancies and prepare payment summaries for finance.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain trackers for deliveries, stock movement, and supply plans.
- Work with sales, procurement, and finance to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University degree completed in relevant field preferably
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a supply chain organization
- Excellent working and analytical Knowledge of SAP and Excel
- Overall Supply Chain Management process knowledge.
- Solution driven with the willingness and ability to implement innovative ideas
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, 3P management, and waste disposal SOPs.
- Good understanding of transport cost structures and customs procedures.
- Strong Drive for results / entrepreneurial Spirit / decision making committing and delivering, acting with autonomy as it was their own company while fully respecting corporate rules and procedures.
