Job Summary: The learning guide identifies and recruits families for the Project by facilitating Registration, Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA), and research surveys, and administering timely and consistent rotation of tablets and books between families. The learning guide works closely with the parents and support staff to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
He/She supports the delivery of the LPH program by working alongside parents to assist learners in building foundational reading, writing, and comprehension skills. This role focuses on providing one-on-one or small group support, reinforcing key literacy concepts, and encouraging a love for reading in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruit Families into the Project KPIs
- Recruit and subscribe to a minimum of 15 families.
- Ensure a high retention rate of already subscribed users to less than a 5% dropout rate per month.
- Facilitate EGRA and surveys to subscribed users based on Pangea’s research protocols.
KPIs
- Administer weekly EGRA assessments to each member of the subscribed Family
- Conduct surveys before, during, and after the duration of the project.
- Accurately capture user’s biodata and continuous assessment data daily in the Google form promptly.
- Administer the timely and consistent rotation of tablets and books between families KPIs
- Administer the bi-weekly rotation of iPads between 3 groups of families.
- Support families on how to navigate the different exercises on the iPad.
- Deliver books to families.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with inventory management.
KPIs
- Weekly check-in and check-out of the books from the library in the system for users in the project.
- Collaborate with the Lead manager to ensure orderliness at the hub
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field (preferred)
- Experience in a learning, mentoring, or teaching role for lower classes.
- Familiarity with learner-centered and personalized education approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
- Proficient in using digital learning tools and platforms ( Educational learning Apps)
- Organized, patient, and adaptable to different learner needs
- Desirable Skills:
- Experience with project-based or self-directed learning models
- Background in coaching or mentoring youths
- Passion for lifelong learning and learner empowerment.
- Fluency in Languages like Arabic, Lugbarati and English.
