Job Summary: Enhance and enrich the learner experience through the use of available technology.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and developing the University Virtual Learning Environment by installing updates and modules and being able to modify SQL and PHP programming language;
• Help lead in ensuring E Safety within the University;
• Participate in helping advise staff on the best use of their areas of the Virtual Learning Environment and the University Intranet;
• Participate in training programmes for staff on the use of the VLE, Intranet, Smart board and all aspects of E-Learning to facilitate the delivery of outstanding lessons;
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all the University smart boards;
• Participate in the management of the E-Learning Co-coordinators and oversee the delivery of regular staff training in the application of E-Learning and ICT-based tools and oversee project work to be delivered by Co-coordinators as required;
• Assist in Planning activities appropriate to support development and innovative project work to E-learning and its infrastructure;
• Assist in management of a team of E-Learning Action Point Staff, who advise student and staff about the everyday running of the University E- learning programme;
• Participate in preparing the E-Learning budget;
• Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A Masters Degree in Information Technology or Information Science/System or Library or Information Science/ Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics/Physics/Electrical/Electronics or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Systems and Technology and any other ICT related programs from recognized University/Institution;
• An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Information Science/System or Library or Information Science/ Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics/Physics/Electrical/Electronics or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Systems and Technology and any other ICT related programs from recognized University/Institution.
• A professional certificate in the relevant discipline.
• Experience
• A minimum of three (3) years working experience.

Skills/Competences

• Knowledge of VLE design;
• Up-to-date knowledge of E-Learning in Universities;
• Management/Supervisory experience;
• Programming skills in PHP and SQL;
• Interactive white board maintenance skills or willingness to learn;
• Safe guarding and E-safety skills;
• Teaching skills;
• Basic server maintenance server basic skills.
