Job Summary: Major role of the ESH officer is to ensure compliance, prevent and eliminate injury and sickness to the employees.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To assist the company to comply with safety laws in systematic and organized approach.
- Periodically inspect workplace and machinery to minimize or eliminate potential hazards such as, wrong working methods, high noise levels, contaminated drinking water, polluted air quality or toxic chemicals etc.
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Identify, develop and carryout relevant safety-related training programs.
- Keep record of safety-related accidents within a particular time frame.
- Recommend appropriate protective equipment that workers should wear while carrying out tasks.
- Supervise the installation of potentially harmful equipment and the disposal of hazardous substances.
- Stop the continuation of processes that are deemed harmful to the health of workers.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures.
- Review existing safety policies and update them where necessary.
- Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Assess possible risks and ensure that preventive measures are taken.
- Ensure waste management is done in an appropriate manner.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required
Work Experience
- 3 years of related experience and in a similar industry; FMCG
- Desired profile
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent Training and Presentation skills.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
