The facility is designed with materials and finishes that allow ample natural light thus conserving energy and still maintain high cleanliness standards and minimize maintenance. The entire facility is designed to meet the CGMP requirements.
Job Summary: The Engineering Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management of the engineering store, ensuring that tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored, accurately recorded, and readily available for engineering and maintenance teams. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and supporting maintenance operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of engineering items, including tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems (manual or electronic such as ERP)
- Monitor stock levels regularly and generate reorder requests to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Identify obsolete, damaged, or slow-moving items and recommend appropriate disposal or reallocation actions.
Stores Organization and Housekeeping
- Organize materials in designated locations for easy retrieval and compliance with safety protocols.
- Tag and label all stock items with clear part numbers and descriptions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly store environment always.
- Ensure the store layout supports optimal space utilization and workflow.
Material Issuance and Accountability
- Issue tools and materials to engineering and maintenance teams as per approved requisitions.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all issues and returns.
- Track movement of tools and equipment to ensure timely return and prevent losses.
- Implement access control measures to prevent unauthorized access to store items.
- Liaise with the procurement team and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of engineering materials.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and stock reports.
- Participate in periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
Health Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures while handling, storing, and issuing materials.
- Use appropriate PPE while working in the store.
- Ensure materials are stored in line with health and safety standards to avoid accidents or contamination.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Engineering, Storekeeping, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with engineering tools, parts, and equipment; understanding of inventory control principles.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of engineering materials, tools, and equipment
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word).
