Job Summary: The electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in solar power plants, water pumping systems, and related renewable energy infrastructure. The role requires expertise in both AC/DC electrical systems, solar PV installations, and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment in solar energy systems (PV panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers) and water pumping solutions.
- Perform electrical inspections, testing, and diagnostics to ensure system efficiency and safety.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for solar and water system installations.
- Ensure compliance with the company safety standards.
- Work with DC and AC systems, including wiring, grounding, and circuit protection for solar arrays and hybrid systems.
- Assist in the commissioning of solar power plants, water pumps, and off-grid/battery storage systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize system performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs on solar and water energy systems.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system performance.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Certified Electrician qualification is an added advantage
- 2 years of experience in electrical installations, preferably in solar energy or water pumping systems.
- Strong knowledge of PV systems, inverters, batteries, and water pump controllers.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools (multimeters, clamp meters, crimping tools, etc.).
- Ability to work at heights (for rooftop solar installations) and in outdoor environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
