About Organisation:
The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary: To develop Business Intelligence solutions that address business requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the Organization Data warehouse.
- Development of BI Specifications
- Create, install, deploy, and upgrade BI solutions.
- Create user and technical reference manuals for Business Intelligence solutions.
- Provide technical input to quality assurance reviews.
- Conduct unit and integration testing of business applications, as well as supporting Acceptance Testing processes.
- Document practices, policies, guidelines, business requirements, Requests for Change, and concept papers on business intelligence solutions.
- Design and implement data collection tools from traditional and big data sources.
- Provide 3rd level support for existing business intelligence solutions.
- Implement data archiving and destruction as per approved data archiving and
- destruction guidelines.
- Prepare system change management documentation and implement changes on BI through change management policies of the Bank.

- Deployed BI solutions.
- Business intelligence solution technical and user guides.
- Technical review issue logs.
- Business Requirements documents, MCPs, guidelines, requests for change documents, concept papers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A First Class or Upper Second-Class degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
- Professional Certifications Microsoft Certified Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Data Scientist Associate, Certification in Project Management is an added advantage.

Technical Competencies
- A working knowledge of programming languages such as Python
- Demonstrable knowledge of software development techniques, methodologies, and best practices
- Demonstratable experience in development using analytics Microsoft Power BI or data analytics tools.
- Demonstratable knowledge in Business analysis techniques
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and working with Relational Database Management Systems
- Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP)
- Knowledge of solution specifications development
- Demonstratable knowledge on data warehouse tools, big data tools, machine learning technologies, basic IT Security, and basic statistics
- Knowledge of Agile development techniques
