Jolems Investment Limited located in Kampala Uganda is a company limited by shares that was established to acquire, manage office, trading stations, factories, shops and depots among which include production of oral and food products.

Job Summary: The Business Development Executive is responsible for achieving sales targets, building strong customer relationships, and expanding Jolems Investments Limited’s market reach. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, professional and effective communication with clients and internal teams, diligent follow-up, and a commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs in line with JIL’s values of quality and customer satisfaction. The Sales Representative will contribute to building brand loyalty and ensuring sustainable sales growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for Jolems’ products within a defined territory or customer segment.
  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with existing and potential customers through regular communication and engagement.
  • Actively sell Jolems’ products by understanding customer needs and providing suitable solutions.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and expand JIL’s market reach.
  • Participate in sales drives, promotional campaigns, and local events to raise brand awareness and generate sales.
  • Ensure all communication with customers is professional, respectful, and relevant.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to customers regarding product features, pricing, availability, and promotions.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and effectively, escalating issues to the Sales
  • Supervisor or Sales and Marketing Manager as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market feedback.
  • Provide regular feedback on sales activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Coordinate with the Production Lead to ensure product availability and provide feedback on product demand and customer preferences.
  • Work with distributors and retailers to grow Jolems’ sales and build strong partnerships.
  • Gather market intelligence on competitor activities and customer trends.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to sales, communication, and ethical conduct.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Self-motivated and target-oriented with a strong drive to achieve results.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and provide effective solutions.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using sales-related software or tools.
  • Familiarity with the Ugandan and East African markets is an advantage.

Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Growth in the customer base and market share.
  • Customer satisfaction levels and retention rates.
  • Effectiveness in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of sales reports and feedback.
  • Compliance with company policies and sales procedures.
  • Contribution to team sales efforts and overall department goals.
