Job Summary: With a particular emphasis on farming, education, and business development, the Assistant Programs Manager will assist in the efficient planning, execution, and oversight of all HODARI Foundation programs. Commitment to community-led solutions and a thorough comprehension of the particular difficulties faced by refugees, especially women, children, and other vulnerable groups are prerequisites for this position. The ideal applicant will have outstanding communication and organizing abilities and be a proactive problem-solver.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help oversee and plan all program activities on a daily basis, making sure they complement the goals and objectives of the Hodari Foundation.
- For both new and ongoing projects, assist the programs manager in creating thorough work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
- Make routine field trips to program locations to track developments, spot obstacles, and offer project teams and beneficiaries on-the-ground assistance.
- Assist in creating and compiling program reports, such as annual, quarterly, and donor-specific reports, making sure that all paperwork is correct and turned in on schedule.
- Organize community gatherings, training sessions, and workshops for beneficiaries and other interested parties.
- Track program expenses and maintain financial compliance by working together with the finance officer.
- act as a vital point of contact for the community, field employees, and the programs manager.
- Participate in the creation of grant proposals and the discovery of new funding opportunities.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the programs manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in project management, development studies, social sciences, or a similar discipline.
- Two years or more of experience managing a program or in a similar capacity, ideally in an NGO. An important benefit is having prior experience working with vulnerable populations or refugees.
- Strong time-management, organizing, and project-management abilities.
- Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- The capacity to function both individually and collaboratively in a demanding and changing setting.
- Dedication to the Hodari Foundation’s ideals and tenets.
