The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary: To manage the IT asset lifecycle and change management processes ensuring that IT assets (including documents are effectively tracked, maintained, and updated). This role involves managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and the IT inventory; monitoring changes and ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT assets.
- Manage and monitor change requests ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets including documentation, hardware, software, and licenses.
- Maintain and manage the CMDB ensuring it accurately and completely reflects the IT environment.
- Identify and record all configuration items (CIs) in the CMDB ensuring they are uniquely identifiable and accurately classified.
- Document and manage the relationships between CIs within the CMDB.
- Regularly update the CMDB and conduct audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
- Integrate change management processes with the CMDB recording all changes to CIs and assessing their impact.
- Generate reports from the CMDB to provide insights into the IT environment and support decision-making.
- Ensure the CMDB supports regulatory compliance and audit requirements.
- Ensure asset and change management activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, changes, and configurations.
- Provide broad support including first-line technical support and day-to-day administration for all library systems software and technology aspects.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely and effective support and maintenance.
- Monitor the status of IT assets and changes to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Ensure IT support activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Participate in the evaluation of IT-related procurements ensuring technical requirements are met.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader, User Support Services, from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A First or Second Upper-Class degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- Professional certifications in asset management, IT Service Management (ITIL), Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2), or Software Asset Management (SAM).
- Work Experience:
- At least three (3) years of relevant working experience in IT asset and change management roles.
Age:
- 25.0 – 30.0 years of age as at close of the advert.

- Experience in managing IT inventory and tracking changes.
- Experience in managing and maintaining a CMDB.
- Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting IT issues.
- Knowledge of Service Desk tools, Incident Management, IT Asset and Configuration Management, Change Enablement, and Continual Improvement.
