DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIRED SERVICE PROVISION
Background/ rationale
INSPIRE (Inclusive Norms, Support, and Promoting Inclusive Reproductive Empowerment) is a one- year project from September 2024 to August 2025 funded by CDCS.
- The project aims to improve long-term access to inclusive sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) for refugees, particularly of Congolese origin, and neighboring host communities, with and without disabilities, in the Nakivale camp.
The project is currently in the last quarter of implementation and has provided capacity building for 90 Health workers in the areas of Disability Inclusion, iSRHR, iGBV, Disability Data collection and Informed Consent. Through the Implementing partner ARD (Association of Refugees with Disability) the project has conducted community awareness creation sessions as well as engagement with gatekeepers to challenge negative social norms that affect the uptake and utilization of SRHR services and promote GBV. The INSPIRE project has collaborated with government bodies, partners, and UN agencies like OPM, MTI, Alight, UNHCR to promote inclusive SRHR and GBV service delivery.
Following the first year of implementation, the project seeks to document stories of change and testimonies from beneficiaries and community structures. This documentation will be helpful in showcasing the pSositive impact the project has had on the lives of both refugees and host community population, especially the adolescents, in terms of access to SRHR information and services. It is from this background that the project intends to capture a documentary both through videography and photography. This will help in resource mobilization, increasing HI and donor visibility, and influence future programming.
