Uganda Post Limited, trading as Posta Uganda. UPL  is the most extensive provider of postal services in Uganda, having an extensive network of postal delivery outlets down to sub-county level.

Job Summary: To support the effective and efficient management of the organization’s inventory by assisting in the receipt, storage, issuance, and proper documentation of all store transactions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and supplies.
  • Ensure all received goods match purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Maintain updated inventory records in the system and ensure physical counts match system balances.
  • Organize and store items in designated storage areas for easy retrieval and stock rotation.
  • Issue goods to departments as requested and properly document transactions.
  • Assist in regular stocktaking and prepare stock reports.
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the store and items stored.
  • Report stock discrepancies or damaged goods to the Supervisor.
  • Assist in reordering items when stock levels fall below minimum thresholds.
  • Support audits and inspections by availing required documentation and explaining procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

  • Timeliness of stock issuance.
  • Stock reconciliation frequency
  • Stock damage/loss rate
  • Cleanliness or orderliness of stores
  • Documentation accuracy
  • Compliance with stores procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:




  • An Honors Bachelor’s degree in Stores Management, Procurement and Logistics or Business Administration or Management majoring in Stores Management or Procurement and Logistics.
  • Work experience
  • At least three (03) years of working experience in inventory or stores management.

Competences

  • Sound knowledge of stores management procedures
  • Good customer care
  • Good communication
  • Technology proficiency
