Job Summary: Our Finance department is seeking a Senior Accounts Officer to support daily financial transactions, records, and reconciliations, as outlined in the description below.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping in the Company’s financial system SAP in accordance with local GAAP requirements.
- Calculation of monthly tax payables; ensure timely tax filing and settlement with the Ugandan Revenue Authority.
- Handle tax audits and liaise with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) on any tax-related matters.
- Preparation of month-end reconciliations.
- Posting of bank entries and making sure they are correctly allocated to the right vendor or balance sheet item.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintain compliance with all URA and NSSF regulations.
- Active participation in annual financial audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Support to junior accounting staff to enhance team efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A University degree in the relevant field from a reputable organization A post graduate qualification that is relevant to the role and evidence of continued professional development is an added advantage.
- CPA qualification is preferred.
Experience
- Prior experience Accounting at least 2 years
- Prior experience in a financial institution is an added advantage.
