Job Summary: FLIP Africa on behalf of our client is seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead our Mineral Cow Feed sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing sales strategies, and managing customer relationships in the dairy farming industry.
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Najera Buwaate – Kungu Road
Salary: 1,700,000 NET
About Us
Our client is a family business set-up in 2002 in both Uganda and Rwanda. Today the business is run by a second generation and has become Uganda’s leading distributor in Pet Food. We supply independent pet retailers and commercial stores across Uganda. They aim to consolidate its distribution activities by widening its portfolio across various sectors of FMCG. They now manufacture and distribute its own brand of detergents and aim to continuously introduce new products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve targets and expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including dairy farmers and feed suppliers.
- Stay up-to-date on product features, benefits, and applications to effectively communicate with customers.
- Lead and motivate a team to achieve sales targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities and challenges, particularly regarding the demand for products with specific compositions like calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and essential vitamins and trace elements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant field such as Sales, Agriculture, Animal Nutrition.
- Proven track record of having sold mineral Cow feed or a related product and sales management experience in Cow feed or related product.
- Strong understanding of dairy farming and animal nutrition (e.g., corn, grass silage with high alfalfa proportion, beet pulp).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Having worked with an International Company is an added advantage.
- Having a relationship, contact and dairy association with large scale cow farms is an added advantage.
