Living Water International Uganda (LWIU) was formed in 2009. LWIU is an affiliate of Living Water International based in Houston, Texas, USA that was founded in 1990 and currently works in over 20+ countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. LWI Uganda runs an integrated Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) program in South Western Uganda & we partner with other like-minded organisations to provide safe drinking water, Community Mobilisation & Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to communities across Uganda.
Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and value-driven Procurement & Logistics Officer to support our mission by leading efficient, ethical, and strategic procurement processes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to life-changing work while strengthening supply chain practices in remote and Wash Program Areas (WPAs) where we operate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement
- Manage procurement planning, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of quality goods and services.
- Monitor and improve procurement processes in line with LWI policies.
- Maintain accurate records and reports and ensure compliance with local laws and donor requirements.
- Work closely with departments and field teams to meet operational needs.
Logistics and Fleet
- Supervise the LWI fleet and ensure fuel efficiency
- Manage the repair of equipment and vehicles, ensuring the Administration and WATSAN Engineer are aware of the ongoing work and expected completion time.
- Carry out annual vehicle and equipment inventory and provide reports in your area of responsibility.
- Produce a monthly summary of all vehicle usage reports.
- Ensure that vehicle and equipment safety inspections are performed, and all observations are reported and resolved promptly.
- Ensure vehicle logbooks are available, maintained, and always updated.
- Develop strategies for greater fuel usage efficiency, ensuring appropriate procedures and control on the issuance of fuel are made and followed.
- Prepare comparative analysis reports to ensure that fuel drawn by all Vehicles is put to the intended purpose.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Procurement & Logistics, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Postgraduate professional study in a related field will be added advantage
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a WASH-related INGO in a similar role will be a strong asset.
- Experience in the procurement of water supply equipment or materials will be an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation, planning, and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of procurement laws, contract management, and budgeting
- A committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

- Clean Driving license with a minimum of 4 years driving experience.
