We are seeking to hire an experienced and visionary Medical Promotions Manager to take charge of brand growth and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) engagement across the Uganda territory. In this high-impact role, you will lead the development and execution of medical promotion strategies, drive scientific communication, oversee national promotional campaigns, and lead a talented field team, all with the goal of increasing product uptake, prescriber loyalty, and brand equity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Brand Management and Medical Promotion Strategy: Drive the development and execution of targeted promotional strategies and brand communication plans tailored to healthcare professionals, ensuring alignment with clinical data, product lifecycle and market needs.
- Drive Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with healthcare professionals and Key Opinion Leaders through regular scientific engagement, CME events and medical forums, to enhance brand credibility and adoption.
- Plan and Execute Promotional Campaigns: Design, implement, and oversee the rollout of impactful medical campaigns, events and promotional activities ensuring timely deployment of compliant promotional materials and effective field execution.
- Leverage Data, Insights and Reporting: Conduct market research, analyze prescription trends and competitor activities, and provide strategic insights through regular performance reports to inform data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure Compliance and Regulatory Alignment: Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure full adherence to Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) guidelines, including pre-approvals, documentation and internal SOPs for all promotional activities.
- Lead and Develop the Medical Promotions Team: Manage and mentor a national team of Medical Representatives, setting KPIs, facilitating continuous training, and fostering a culture of accountability, scientific excellence and high performance.
- Manage Budgets and Optimize ROI: Prepare and control promotional budgets, monitor expenditures, and evaluate return on investment (ROI) to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, or related life sciences.
- Postgraduate qualification in Marketing or MBA will be a strong advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing/promotion, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in HCP engagement, CME delivery, scientific promotion and medical field force leadership.
- A strategist with excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong people management skills with high business acumen capacity.
