NIC General Insurance Company Limited was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014 and took over the general insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.
Job Summary: To drive revenue growth and customer retention by actively sourcing, promoting, and selling insurance products and services, maintaining strong client relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the development of innovative insurance solutions in line with market trends and company goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate and close the sales leads for NIC General Insurance Limited (NIC) products and services by soliciting business from prospective customers.
- Attend or make presentations to prospective customers on various NIC products.
- Advise customers on how to complete application proposal and claim forms for all the NIC’s products.
- Explain fully to customers the terms and conditions of NIC’s products and services.
- Receive customer feedback during the course of interacting with customers and provide such feedback to the supervisor.
- Create and maintain client records for business retention.
- Review, analyze, and submit proposal forms to Underwriters. Make recommendations regarding the risk to the Underwriter for the most cost effective and proper insurance coverage
- Attend weekly marketing meetings, present your weekly performance report including status reports of work in progress for prospects in the pipeline.
- Review expiration lists 120 days in advance of expiration to determine what accounts require renewal and follow up with Underwriters to generate renewal notice and submit them to the respective clients.
- Set up and schedule appointments to visit existing and new prospective customers
- Assist in the development of new products and redevelopment of existing products and programs for the companies
- Support and coordinate the development of marketing and business plans, monitor results, and recommend adjustments for improved performance
- Prepare and submit sales reports monthly, quarterly and annually
- Monitor and provide feedback, including recommendations, for enhanced customer care relationships.
- Learn and demonstrate proficient use of company information management systems.
- Sourcing and procuring of business from various channels in line with the set targets/budgets
- Identify product improvements by remaining current on industry trends, market and competitor’s activities
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports giving details of individual performance on business acquired/lost / sales pipeline and feedback on market practices
- Address client/customer inquiries and feedback within the timelines stipulated in Customer service charter and/or SLAs signed with respective clients
- Premium collection, on cash and carry basis and in line with the Credit control policy
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Marketing or any related field from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of proficiency in Insurance
- At least 3 years’ experience in Insurance.
Job skills and abilities:
- Demonstrate good communication skills both written and Oral.
- Report writing skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency in Ms Word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint and Internet usage.
- Good Interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
