Job Title: Logistics and Export Coordinator

About Organisation:
Sukuma Commodities Ltd is a fully licensed Uganda Coffee Exporting company, with operations in all major coffee growing areas of the country, working with smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and local enterprises in the coffee supply chain. We have expertise in both Robusta and Arabicas.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule shipments, coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure timely delivery to international markets
- Prepare and verify shipping documents (e g , commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin) for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, including Incoterms and coffee-specific certifications (e.g.. Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance).
- Work with sales, purchasing, warehousing teams, and external partners (producers, importers, shipping companies) to optimize logistics processes.
- Monitor inventory levels, track shipments, and maintain coffee quality standards during storage and transit.
- Generate reports on freight costs, shipment statuses, and customs compliance for stakeholders
- Address logistical challenges, such as delays or customs issues, with effective solutions to maintain supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in logistics, export operations, or supply chain management, preferably in the coffee or food and beverage industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder collaboration.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and compliance.
- Certifications in clearing and forwarding is highly desirable
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring flexibility and adaptability
