About Organisation:
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory body, established in 1996 by the Capital Markets Authority Act (Cap 84) as amended, to promote, develop and regulate the capital markets industry. CMA is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. The work of the CMA is also governed by the Securities Central Depositories Act, 2009 and the Collective Investment Schemes Act, 2003.
Job Summary: CMA invites applications from young lawyers to join its graduate trainee program within the Legal Department. The candidates selected will gain hands-on experience in securities regulation, including legislative development, drafting and reform, capital markets transactions, enforcement of regulatory provisions, and engagement with related legal proceeding; among other dynamic learning opportunities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law with first class or upper second and a Diploma in legal practice awarded in a period not exceeding two (2) years by the date of application.
- No work experience is required, however the desired candidate(s) should demonstrate strong interest in the capital markets industry.
