Setty Grove Farm, is a leading regenerative agribusiness based in the Albertine Rift Valley, Uganda. With over 423 hectares of prime agricultural land and 200 hectares of macadamia orchards, the client is scaling their operations with a focus on sustainability, value addition, and community development. The Client also manages maize and soybean seed production for NASECO and integrates agroforestry, livestock, and apiculture into its model.
Our client is seeking a dynamic and analytical Finance Manager to strengthen their financial governance, support growth planning, and lead investor reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop, manage, and refine long-term financial models, cash flow forecasts, and ROI analyses for the client’s core enterprises.
- Monitor capital and operational expenditures against approved budgets.
- Analyze profitability of macadamia, maize, soybean, honey, and livestock enterprises.
- Evaluate capex projects (e.g., processing plant, irrigation infrastructure) for bankability and return.
Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in line with IFRS and Ugandan tax regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Liaise with auditors and ensure clean audit outcomes.
- Oversee payroll processing, including fringe benefits and statutory deductions.
Investor & Stakeholder Reporting
- Prepare board reports and investor updates with financial KPIs, variance analysis, and milestone tracking.
- Support due diligence processes with financial data, audited statements, and cap table disclosures.
- Maintain and update the investor data room.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage bank relationships, working capital facilities, and FX exposures. Oversee payment approvals, vendor reconciliations, and debt servicing. Monitor liquidity position and recommend funding strategies.
Budgeting & Controls
- Lead annual budgeting process and set financial targets aligned with strategic plans. Establish internal controls, approval workflows, and risk mitigation systems.
- Support procurement with cost-benefit analysis and budget alignment.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. CPA/ACCA certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in agribusiness, manufacturing, or investment-backed enterprise.
- Familiarity with IFRS, tax planning, and agricultural cost accounting.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling), QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting systems. Strong understanding of capital structuring, depreciation, and investment analysis.
- Experience working with donor-funded or PE-backed projects is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
- High integrity, attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently and manage cross-functional finance tasks.
