Job Title: Estates Officer – Electrical

Job Summary: Coordinate the design and implementation of all electrical works in the University
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for electrical equipment, maintenance and reliability;
- Support the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and adjustment of all types of electrical systems;
- Provide technical support in all electrical equipment failure investigations and analyses;
- Mentor others in the organization on electrical engineering design and maintenance principles;
- Monitor and manage obsolescence of installed electrical equipment and devices;
- Prepare cost studies and justifications for equipment additions, replacements and upgrades to achieve reduction of equipment downtime, improved maintenance safety and equipment standardization;
- Approve payment Certificates;
- Manage and maintain installation of security street lights;
- Supervise the meter installation, meter reading and billing process of electricity;
- Curb illegal electricity connections, with safety protection measures;
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Honors Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
- Must be a member of a Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers;
- Must be a registered engineer with a valid practicing license from Engineers Registration Board.
Experience
- Three (3) years relevant working experience
Skills/Competences
- Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Proficient in using relevant computer packages;
- Team work and team building;
- High integrity
