At the click of a button, SafeBoda provides a safe, more convenient, mobile-first transportation platform for Africa’s booming young population. On the high-frequency use of our transportation service, SafeBoda is providing value to consumers, our drivers, and passengers, with additional financial services, payments, and other on-demand services such as food and grocery delivery to keep Africa moving forward.
Job Summary: The main objective of this role is to increase customer orders and App downloads.
To expand our SafeBoda bike service throughout Kampala, we are looking for motivated sales agents that work on a commission basis. You will promote and sell our App’s boda services to potential customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Acquisition
- Identify and target potential new customers in deployed areas.
- Onboard new customers by explaining SafeBoda services and how to use the app.
- Distribute promotional materials like flyers and encourage usage of the app.
- Customer Resurrection (Reactivation)
- Collect feedback from inactive users using the provided survey
- Encourage them to use the SafeBoda Bike services, leveraging on the provided USPs
- Data Collection of people approached and feedback.
- Follow brand guidelines and uphold the company’s values in all interactions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education and Experience: Preferably, you have a business, marketing, or similar Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of one year of experience in Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Customer acquisition, or related roles.
- Sales and Marketing Proficiency: Demonstrable ability to find prospects, make offers, and close sales. You approach sales with creativity, entrepreneurship, and a focus on results.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and negotiating abilities. To effectively interact with customers, you must be fluent in both English, Luganda, and any other local language is an added advantage.
- Technical: At ease using mobile apps and smartphones for communication and reporting.
- Personal: Very organised and self-motivated. Capable of working autonomously and actively pursuing leads. Should be flexible with working hours and be ready to move throughout Kampala.
- Adaptability: Manage your time. We value quality more than quantity.
- Working in the field requires self-motivation, organisation, and flexibility.
