Job Summary: Kilimo Trust is implementing a Rice Production and Sustainability Program dubbed Reduce-Reuse Recycle-Rice-Initiative for Climate Smart Agriculture (R4iCSA II), an initiative funded by the IKEA Foundation and implemented in both Kenya and Uganda. In Uganda, the project is in the districts of Tororo, Butaleja, and Kween, while in Kenya, it is in the Counties of Kirinyaga (Mwea) and Kisumu (Ahero). Kilimo Trust, therefore, seeks a temporary Data Entrant to support data entry.
The main goal of the assignment is to support Kilimo Trust to create a comprehensive database of farmers trained on Sustainable Rice Production (SRPs) practices and the technology adopters under R4iCSA II Project in Eastern Uganda, targeting 300 pages whereby each page contains 10 farmers trained, and 157 pages each contain 15 farmers adopting SRPs, totaling to 2,200 adopters.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Specifically, the Data Entrant will support Kilimo Trust to deliver on the following:
- Enter relevant information for farmers trained.
- Enter relevant information for R-L-I adopters.
- Cross-verify data for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost care.
- Collaborate with field teams to collect missing data or resolve discrepancies.
- Update the database promptly with any changes in the farmers’ profiles.
- Adhere to strict data security measures to protect the confidentiality and privacy of farmers’ information.
- Report any security concerns or breaches immediately to the supervisor.
- Submit weekly updated progress reports to the supervisor.
- Submit monthly report with updated database.
- Support Project MEL Uganda Team in Data management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Holder of a Diploma in Agriculture or ICT with at least one year of practical experience in agricultural extension, Survey, Integrated data management, MEL. A bachelor’s degree is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and interpretation of data.
- Good report writing skills.
