Legacy Insurance Brokers is an insurance intermediary and consultancy company licensed as an Insurance Broker by The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) who are the Insurance Industry statutory regulators and we offer a wide range of Insurance Advisory and Consultancy Services to our clients.
Job Summary: We are looking for a Self-motivated, experienced and qualified person to work as our Chief Finance Officer, responsible for the day to day implementation of our Finance policy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To observe and implement our finance policy.
- To manage and be in charge of the Accounts/finance Department.
- To ensure both expenses and business ledgers, postings are always up to date.
- To ensure timely reconciliations of insurers’ and clients’ statements.
- To ensure policy cancellations and insurers’ credit notes are promptly posted and captured in our database.
- To carry out weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- To prepare quarterly management accounts for discussion by the directors.
- To prepare annual company financial statements for audit purposes and subsequent discussion by the board of directors.
- To monitor the credit control team to ensure timely premium collections within the agreed payment plans and remittances to insurers in accordance with the provisions of the Insurance Act.
- To carry out quarterly validation of financial data in the software system to ensure the accuracy of the books of accounts and the business production books.
- To prepare the company’s annual budgets and cash flow projections.
- To prepare the quarterly reconciliation statements with partner insurance companies and submit to the Regulator.
- To prepare and keep up to date the company’s debtors list/register.
- To prepare and keep up to date records of all company assets.
- To prepare and keep up to date records of all company liabilities.
- To produce monthly performance/production reports by the 15th of every month for review and evaluation by the management committee.
- To ensure staff salaries are paid every month without fail and in case of any delay the same is explained to the staff in advance.
- To ensure statutory returns and remittances for NSSF, VAT and PAYE are done to the respective statutory bodies not later than the 15th day of every month.
- To arrange and guide those clients who wish to pay their premiums through the bank under the Insurance Premium Financing (IPF) facilities and keep up to date statements of IPF loan repayments.
- To Act as the Liaison and Financial Intelligence Compliance Officers.
- To carry out any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time, by the management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Accounting and Finance.
- CPA Professional qualifications
Experience
- Above three [3] years of working experience in Insurance Accounting and Finance
