Job Summary: Craft Silicon is looking for a highly skilled and proactive Support & Delivery Engineer to join our growing team in Uganda. If you’re passionate about digital banking technologies, integration, and client-facing support, this is your opportunity to make a real impact in the fintech space.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and support digital channels solutions (ATM, Mobile Banking, POS, Internet & Agency Banking)
- Engage with clients for successful onboarding and support
- Prepare technical documentation including FSDs and UAT scripts
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman and SOAP UI
- Monitor system performance and transaction metrics
- Troubleshoot and resolve system incidents in collaboration with internal teams and 3rd party integrators
- Host and manage applications on web servers (IIS, Apache)
- Perform database scripting and queries (Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Maintain incident logs and resolution documentation
- Coordinate with DevOps and delivery teams to ensure timely rollouts
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or related field
- 3+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably in a fintech environment
- Proven experience supporting digital channels (ATM, POS, Internet/Mobile Banking)
- Familiarity with ISO 8583/ISO 20022 protocols and payments switching
- Experience in application hosting and web server setup
- Hands-on knowledge of database scripting and API integration
- Understanding of software delivery processes (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Professional certifications (e.g., ITIL) are an added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational abilities
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when needed
