Job Summary: The Stores Supervisor is responsible for establishing a centralized control function that enforces inventory governance protocols optimizes materials planning and forecasting, standardizes documentation practices, and implements structured methodologies for the organization, classification, and traceability of critical inputs, consumables, lubes and spare parts across the supply chain lifecycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement inventory control systems to monitor stock levels, reorder thresholds, and stock movement
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
- Collaborate with maintenance, farming operations, and procurement teams to forecast material requirements based on usage trends, seasonal cycles, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain an efficient store layout to enable quick access, minimize handling time, and reduce the risk of errors or damage.
- Implement proper binning, labelling, and zoning systems.
- Ensure accurate, consistent and timely documentation of all materials received, stored, issued, and returned.
- Prepare regular reports on product health and any concerns related to materials held.
- Oversee and authorize the issuance of items based on approved requisitions.
- Implement controlled access procedures, especially for high-value or regulated materials (e.g., lubricants, agrochemicals).
- Communicate stock status, urgent material needs, and delivery timelines promptly to relevant departments.
- Participate in weekly material control operations procurement planning meetings where material planning is discussed.
- Ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables required for scheduled and emergency equipment maintenance.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of inform to ensure it speaks to the needs of the department and other users.
- Monitor and report on usage patterns that suggest inefficiencies, pilferage, or misuse.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
