About Organisation:
Mengo Hospital was founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently serves as an urban community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and take charge of goods ordered and stored in the store.
- Check quality and quantity of goods supplied against specifications.
- Issue goods as per authorized requisitions and stores procedures.
- Record issues and stock balances, maintaining stores records.
- Maintain optimum stock levels and manage the re-stocking process.
- Follow up with the procurement unit to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
- Ensure the store is well-maintained in terms of cleanliness, health, safety, security, and order.
- Arrange for stock taking.
- Facilitate inspection of stores by auditors and other authorized persons.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Three (3) years of continuous work in a similar position.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Ability to plan.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Integrity.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Professional Degree/Certification
- Minimum Diploma in Procurement, Logistics and Inventory Management, Stores Management, or related field.
