About Organisation:
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210. The Bureau is a key player in Commercial, Civil and Intellectual Property Rights Registration that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics for national planning.
Job Summary: To design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software systems and applications that support organizational operations and strategic objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for new and existing software applications.
- Design, implement, and maintain APIs and integration solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Guide and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical design sessions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for software products.
- Participate in system architecture and design discussions.
- Ensure all software complies with security, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing development practices and tools.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field is an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Oracle Java Certification, or similar are an added advantage.
Work Experience
- At least five (5) years of work experience in software development, three (3) of which must have been at Officer level in a reputable organization.
